Help to get started

i personally disagree with most of the points on that page. however, since i
spent my first five years or so in linux logged in as root (even in x) maybe
it is a good idea to start off with root disabled and escalate as necessary.


that said, you learn a hell of a lot when you break a system that you've
been working with for a few years and are forced to make it work from the
ground up.

... but, this is getting off topic, so i'll jusst leave it at 'maybe you're
right'.
