I just upgraded to 10.4. It often hangs during boot. I think grub is
throughingsome error but where is its log? I went though the logs I
could find and found this error:

May 10 07:30:16 frog /etc/init.d/mysql[1406]: 0 processes alive and
'/usr/bin/mysqladmin --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf ping'
resulted in
May 10 07:30:16 frog /etc/init.d/mysql[1406]: #007/usr/bin/mysqladmin:
connect to server at 'localhost' failed
May 10 07:30:16 frog /etc/init.d/mysql[1406]: error: 'Can't connect to
local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
May 10 07:30:16 frog /etc/init.d/mysql[1406]: Check that mysqld is
running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!
May 10 07:30:16 frog /etc/init.d/mysql[1406]:

How do I fix that?

What software should I use for the log viewer? How should I go from here?

Thanks.
