Hi,
I did not receive my own email trhough the list, I'm gessing it's been lost somewhere in the pipes... anyway.
I'm in need of expert information and help...
Since about 2 (now : 3 - maybe more) weeks, I am completely unable to connect to MSN from my Kubuntu.
On my home network, I am however able to connect to login.live.com from Windows using firefox, or using WLM, so I know it's kubuntu that's failing :'(
What I don't understant is how to solve this issue... :
- as I said, I can't connect to MSN : I tried aMSN, pidgin, kopete : none work.
- pidgin, in its debug window, constantly says things such as :
(18:17:23) soap: Received secure request.
(18:17:28) msn: servconn 000 read error, len: 0, errno: 11, error: Ressource temporairement non disponible
(18:17:28) msn: Connection error from Notification server (64.4.34.59): Erreur de lecture
this means "ressource temporarily unavailable" and "read error"
(connection is reset by peer). Same for other server IPs :
(18:15:14) soap: Sending secure request.
(18:16:19) msn: servconn 000 read error, len: 0, errno: 11, error:
Ressource temporairement non disponible
(18:16:19) msn: Connection error from Notification server
(207.46.125.32): Erreur de lecture
- I tried both standard and http connection styles
- When I try to login to login.live.com using firefox (or any other browser) in kubuntu, I face the same situation until I flush cookies/cache: connection reset by peer !
- Looking at netstat output, I see packets are apparently not acknowledged on Windows Live side, and there are packets stuck in the
"send queue" :
tcp 0 2704 192.168.1.15:35647 65.54.186.107:443 ESTABLISHED
tcp 0 3571 192.168.1.15:58424 65.55.16.185:443 ESTABLISHED
Same for Orange webmail, except that packets in the send queue are on port 80...
Sooooo..... What the hell is going on ? Is this a microsoft/orange anti-linux measure ??
Kernel bug ???
I tried starting with an old kernel : same behaviour.
Would you have any idea why this is working on windows and not on linux ?
Off course, I disabled any firewall that might get in the way.
Is Windows Live Messenger working for you guys ??? Orange webmail ?
Thanks for any help && regards !!
