Ah, I misinterpreted that. In that case what should the packagers do?
Stay with an unmaintained version of KDE for an *LTS* release?!?
Especially since for a lot of users like me, quite a few things were
fixed...
There really is no perfect solution in this case. Either decision is
going to piss off a few users. What should be done is to display a
big fat warning that kaddressbook will become unusable with this
upgrade...

I hear you. I, personally, would like it back, too, but I don't
really care enough about it now that I know how to do it the
akonaditray way...
(Oh, and for some of us, there is no "Advanced" tab - I prefer the
tree view... But then that's hardly anything a user "too dumb to set
up Akonadi" would likely have...)
