Problem with Live CD Karmic 64bit

Twice I have downloaded 9.10 kde 64bit live CD.  Neither, of the CD's that I 
have copied, stops the boot sequence to install the OS; the computer just 
continues to open the current OS.  I am able to open the CD once the current 
OS opens, but I am unable to install from the Folder.  Can this be done when 
selecting "install" file?  If so, how do I do this?  Also, why is the CD 
recognized after the current OS is running and apparently is not recognized to 
stop the boot process for installation?
