Hello, Reinhold --

To answer your question directly, No, I did not see even a diagnostic!

I have tried this using Konqueror, and it re-directs me to 
https://help/ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/CommandLine.

This gives rather complete instructions for using the command line to 
reset repository options, but it does NOT either get or install anything 
"as such"!

I didn't yet get to sleep, and I do not want to rely upon myself for a 
little while.  So I will update the world on the situation in a while.
