Opening Nautilus replaces the desktop with the Gnome desktop.

Due to a long-standing bug in Dolphin / Konqueror I have been using
Nautilus as my file manager lately. However, when I open Nautilus my
desktop goes from Plasma to Gnome. The Plasma panel remains, however,
and the Gnome panels don't come up. How can I prevent my desktop from
switching to Gnome?
