Amavis-stats seems to have a bug, I am guessing the version in 10.04 is
not the latest (0.1.22+dfsg-2)
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=528586
try installing the packages listed as 'depends on' the changes summary down
near the bottom of the page if you can't turn off amavis-stats email function.
I am not sure if the email frequency is because of the bug or not, but it
seems to be the case.
