Bob always had staff on the road to universities on the weekends, all
expenses paid, to hold install-fests, plus he'd get a truckload of
Domino's Pizza delivered to the events. He knew the owner who started
using Linux to save a bundle on store operations. Then we had the RedHat
Expo's every year. He was huge on the small user. That's where the devel
folks come from. Matt had to answer to stockholders. Different setup.
I still know "Uncle Bob" and he's one helluva guy. Fedora came about to
try to un-alienate those who were peeved at the loss of the box set. I
did email support for that and got laid off when it ceased. Setting it
up, as they did, was probably a tax write off? I dunno. I think it was
all one huge mistake ...Bob had it right. Win their hearts and minds, so
when they become Admins they will stick with what they are used to. Same
as Windows users. Gates knows that too. :) Ric
