Thomas, I don't know if this might help, but to get around Maverick
nvidia problem, this was manually added in the xorg.conf file (at the
beginning of the file). You can always try this out and remove it if it
doesn't help. A reboot is necessary.

BTW, this was not needed for Lucid 10.04. My driver is "nvidia" but I
using GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 and I have nouveau package installed.
