Kubuntu 10.04 latest observations/bugs

Ok, I've been using Lucid as my main OS for a week now and a few things are 
still not working properly.

1) Akonadi - still not automatically loading. Think I'll have to add a command 
to autostart.

2) Not sure if it is related to 1, but Kontact seems to take longer to start 
now and the fetching of email has already atleast 30% along by the time it 
does appear. Also email fetching has slowed down.

3) If I try to upload a photo to twitpic with Choqok, there are no jpegs or 
gifs visible in the file browsing window only pngs.

4) KMediaFactory - Still doesn't display an image for the film if you have set 
a customised preview.

5) SMPlayer - If configure video output through vdpau I get 'MPlayer has 
finished unexpectedly. Exit code: 1' when I stop a video.

Some things that I have managed to fix:

1) Ubuntu package search in Firefox - had to copy 2 files from Karmic over to 
Lucid.

2) Samba filesharing - again works after copying the config file over from 
Karmic. Also worth noting that it is called smbd now and that you're 
recommended to use service smbd restart instead of /etc/init.d/samba restart 
now.

3) mp3splt - I can now play and edit mp3s and oggs after having to load a few 
gstreamer packages including gstreamer0.10-alsa and a few plugins.
