I never got that entirely fixed - followed everything on the Techbase Wiki page 
which made no difference to that. I changed the server settings to a std mysql 
server rather than the embedded (?) mysql-akonadi server which improved things 
quite a bit though it still happened occasionally. But the upgrade to Beta 2 
broke it completely and I haven't bothered to try fixing it.

I got the RC last night, I'll try a fresh install and see how that goes.
