How to safely and effectively refresh the bios at my Asus Eee PC 1001HA?

Huh? The BIOS is the BIOS and has nothing to do with the OS you boot 
after it (not as far as updating is concerned, anyway) or use to 
update it. The only thing that matters is whether the version number 
of the BIOS changed after the update...
