Kubuntu 9.04 setting date and time automatically

That could be because it cannot find a runnable ntpd, which is the Network 
Time Protocol Daemon.

See a man ntp, or man ntpd.  For a pool of time servers, use the 
'pool.ntp.org' as the address.
