If you seriously think giving up a factor of 10 in  runtime  
performance is acceptable, well we have different ideas of what is  
acceptable...

Also, in my experience its just as easy to write poor python (or just  
as hard to write good python) as it is C++/C, so I simply don't buy  
your argument switching to python would help at all.
