Many thanks and much praise to Dotan for all the effort he is doing on our
behalf. It is terribly difficult to figure out what "until I can see that KDE4 is
really sorted out" actually means without more specifics. As this differs for
each of us, it must be a somewhat daunting task.

This is key. Even a livecd run from a disk or via a flash drive is an easy way
to do this without having to do a full install or running it from Virtualbox.
It is the primary method I use to check out Ubuntu/Gnome. I try running that
for a week about once a year as my primary OS; I usually last 3-4 days before
going back to my beloved KDE.
Unfortunately some of those still waiting for KDE4 to be exactly like KDE3
will ultimately be disappointed. While the differences between the 2 are far,
far less than the differences between, say Gnome and KDE, there are
probably enough things that cannot or will not be done. We need to provide
more input to minimize what those things are through users using and
testing.

... I have the usual options here in 1.12.2 (KDE 4.3.2) in Karmic, both from
the toolbar and from the right-click context menu
