Kubuntu a dist in crisis?

i have been a kubuntu user from the get go when i started using it on edgy.
it has come along way in terms of wifi support for various cards and its
improving slowly slowly. what bugs me is a big thing in the wifi department.
the network manager widget doesnt seem to work. it works for a while then it
gets updated to something that is broken.

i love kubuntu and cannot see myself being on any other distros. woudl be
nice if more got fixed as to the minor peculiarities, but as a distro as a
whole i havent had many problems with it and in all honesty cant bring
myself to use any other distro.
