In KPAckageKit you can also look at the file list, usually the 
executable is in /usr/bin

Also sometimes menu items do not show up immediately, usually a 
logout/login is one method to refresh that (without using a command prompt)

That doesn't work for all apps, Virtualbox for example is not 
'virtualbox' (lower case) as one would expect, but 'VirtualBox'. But a 
vast majority of things it is the case
