I have played a lot with PDF formats and that reader always works and
is THE standard but it is super slow! You might want to give Evince,
KPDF and oklur a try (not sure if they are all working in KDE4 but
worth a try anyway).

For 9.10 medibuntu lists:

    * aacgain
    * aacplusenc
    * acroread-fonts
    * alsa-firmware
    * amrnb
    * amrwb
    * app-install-data-medibuntu
    * apport-hooks-medibuntu
    * gizmo5
    * googleearth-data
    * googleearth
    * hot-babe
    * ices
    * libamrnb3
    * libamrnb-dev
    * libamrwb3
    * libamrwb-dev
    * libdvdcss2
    * libdvdcss-dev
    * medibuntu-keyring
    * non-free-codecs
    * realplayer
    * rmconverter
    * skype-common
    * skype
    * skype-static
    * w32codecs
    * w64codecs
