I found this (google -> site:www.alsa-project.org/ acer aspire 6935):
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Changes_v1.0.20_v1.0.21 which 
says: "ALSA: hda - Add quirk for Acer Aspire 6935", so it seems the ALSA 
team got it working properly in the new 1.0.21 ALSA version released 
2009-08-31 according to their homepage.

The link to your ALSA info indicates you are using
"Driver version:     1.0.18rc3" ...
