Sound issue!

Thank you both for your responses.

Kevin, that did not work.  I know when I first built that machine I
had issues with the Azalia card not being functional; I had to use the
driver from 4Front-tech's web site.  Then when 9.04 came out I was
able to use the card with the native driver, now I am back to where I
was before.

Jonas, I have checked alsamixer and nothing is muted and all channels
are at max volume.  However, I did not think about moving the devices
up or down in Multimedia.  I will give that one a shot in a few
minutes.

Again, thanks to both of you and I will get back to the testing and
reporting in a little while.
