Random freezes in Kubuntu

 I just added the "pci=nomsi" option to the grub menu. Let's see what happens. I'll let you know. 

 As for the APM options, I never heard of it before... I'll try to investigate...
 It should be mentioned that the "freezes" happen even with cold temperature (I live in a VERY hot city, but I have Air Conditioner, which I use every night) :)

 Yes, I'm using the same hard drive (IDE 30GB) that I used with kubuntu 6.06 (kde3). Never had probles with it.
 From answer I got in the kubuntu forum long ago, I suspected it could be related to some HD problem, but as I mentioned before, I already ran a fdisk test (from a live cd) and it gave me "0" bad blocks.
 BY THE WAY: Here you can read my whole post in kubuntuforums (including another test with smartctl), so you can read the complete tragedy and maybe obtain more data that I'd have missed here:
