Now that you mention it I have noticed some other quirks that may be related
to this.  I'm using an old Toshiba laptop (not mine) with an integrated
card.  lspci | grep VGA gives me...

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated
Graphics Device (rev 02)

I'm not sure what driver I'm using, xorg.conf does not give me any
information.  Is there a better way to find this?

Also sometimes the plugins that I have enabled become disabled on restarting
the computer, specifically Terminal Tool View and Kate Tab Bar Extension.
Is there a way to keep these enabled (I already have the save session and
load last used session options enabled)?
