Kubuntu Hardy - Show wallpaper, not colored desktop

Somehow, I screwed up my Kubuntu Hardy desktop so it now shows only a
blue field instead of my wallpaper.  If I right-click the desktop and
click Configure Desktop, I still see my wallpaper image file, and I see
the blue color that appears.  I could change the background color and/or
gradient style.

But what I want to do is simply show the wallpaper, and no color (or
only at the edges).
