Phonon sound problem?

you might try plugging it in. The output may have been automagically
routed to it in the past and after you unplugged it the system fails to
re-route back to your stereo speakers. Mine does at times.  I use
asoundconf-gdk to select the output. (use synaptic search to
find/install it) Sometimes I have to log out and back in for it to take
effect. Funny thing, it'll switch from the stereo speakers to the USB
headset immeidately, but not the other way. YMMV. It's a thought.

p/s Things are better now than they were in the days when we had to roll
a kernel to get support for your soundcard. But not a heckuvalot. :) Ric
