Yes, absolutely right: mount manager;
but I think it is still work in progress, unfortunately.
I think what David had in mind was a very old thingy appearing on the 
system tray, looks like 3 cubes, 1 on top of 2 others; but that was 
years ago?

Yes, David, I now manually mount the partitions too using bash cli.
Had aliases set up to mount the many partitions. And yes, could do that 
through fstab(thanks, Alan)
