Ark and office 2007 files

Have a user w Hardy 8.04 and Openoffice 3. When she wants to open a docx 
or xlsx, the office 2007 formats, from Dolphin or Konqi, then Ark tries 
to open it..

I have tried to install the converter package, no difference. I tried 
changing file associations in "default apps", no change. You can open 
from inside Openoffice but not from the file browser.

Anyone has any idea what I can do to fix this?
