Dear Lance,

Thank you so very much.  I had posted as solved, so I was prepared to accept 
the onboard sound, nonetheless, the Audigy II sould is a bit better.  It 
worked just as you suggested.  Should I return to the BIOS settings and turn 
of the onboard sound off, or is what I have done, sufficient?
