fvwm unable to initialize in Kubuntu 8.10...[startx fvwm]

That was my first assumption when I _tried_ to understand the startx
man page Karl. But this didn't seem to work. Fortunately somebody
told me about the ~/.xinitrc file which is able to point startx at
fvwm... But thanks for the response.
