How do I unite cd1 to cd2? Is Kino the tool?

In which email before file was suggested did he tell us what kind of
video they were?

It shouldn't be doing any reencoding at all, and based on the speed I
don't believe it is.  All it needs to do is write new AVI headers, then
copy all the frames to new file.

Thus, it requires the input files be in identical format (which in
Steven's case, they already were)

cat doesn't work for AVIs.  The video player will just happily stop
after the first AVI's stated (in the headers) end.
