Please do not reinstall your system, (whatever it is)
if you only have a one printer driver problem. 

The maximum drastic event you should be forced to do,
is to correct/reinstall the printing system (cups/drivers)
or at worst, uninstall, and reinstall, the printing system.

the rest of your system seems to work well, then do not disturb
something who work well, only to correct the only thing who do not.

(An humble advice from an old guy)
