Steven, I also apologize. My remark was not meant to be taken to 
seriously and in no way did I intend to offend you.

Your advice was basically very sound. but with most motherboards you 
better will not take a Bios update lightly, because it is potentially 
dangerous.

Fwiw, I had to scrap a handful of boards where Bios updates failed and 
recovery was simply impossible. Luckily it never happened to me.

I happily follow Ric's advice and simply do not do it, unless it is 
absolutely needed or unless it is a more recent Asus Board. ;-)
