How to install Java on Kubuntu?

The first thing you want to try, when java seems to fail is typing this
on a command line:
java -version
IF that works at all, and you get the returned version as a result, you
have java. If you don't, you don't. Easy to do, down and dirty. IF you
know you installed java, then it becomes a matter of it's path being
set. Better yet, use Adept and put "sun" in the search bar and see if
you have the REAL java installed. If not, click on install. Again, just
google on "kubuntu java jdk install" and you'll find a bunch of working
answers. Put your version in the search to get more accurate. But adept
ought to handle it for you without a bunch of hassles. Ric
