Were Intrepid updates the reason I lost my sound on the Intrepid partition?

I just found that I removed Dragon Player and did not reinstall again.  I must 
have been interrupted after getting advice and forgot to continue the 
instruction.  I will install and try your possibilities.  Thanks for the help.
