It's up to you. And it does not matter, as long as you get the file to 
your computer.

Please note: smartbootmanager imho is very good for "special cases". 
However no one will guarantee you that it will recognize your racked 
disks. You will need to test in order to find out.

One question for my understanding: You said that formerly, you had your 
racked disks available on Win98/Win XP  Dualboot, if I recall correctly.

What does this mean?
You chose at boot which OS you booted directly from the racked disks?

Or did you boot from your permanent harddisk and then had the racked 
disks available for use within the started Operating System?
