ray
PS I will look at what you said and give a go,
the only thing that I worry about Is "type in a terminal "ls /media" to verify the naming convention. "
it wont boot up with the removable racks switch on so how can verify the naming?????

To ensure that you correctly label that removable hdd, type in a terminal "ls /media" to verify the naming convention. (Again grub uses hd(1,0) instead of sdb1, for example). Don't forget to add "chainloader +1" to your entry.> > Done.> > Second, multi-grub:> > Intro: extremely useful if you keep switching OS, trying out new experimental stuff without fear of messing up the booting process or accessing back your favourite stuff. You can really muck around without mucking up. You don't have to complain kde4 messes this up or Jaunty cannot do that anymore. Suggest you try using GAG to solve your woes first. It is simple enough. But I would recommend you try to learn (later on) more about Grub and other nice things it could do. I suggest this very informative and easy to read website http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/ (Helped me tons, compliments to Herman)> > Again, good luck.> > > -- > _______________________________________________> Surf the Web in a faster, safer and easier way:> Download Opera 9 at http://www.opera.com> > Powered by Outblaze> > -- > kubuntu-users mailing list> kubuntu-users at lists.ubuntu.com> Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-users
