I thought I did. When you read mail in a threaded view, with a good mail
program, you can choose to ignore all new messages in the thread. On a high
volume list, most of us tend to do that when there's nothing we can
contribute to the subject in question. When people ask completely new
questions in old threads, if we've already decided not to read those
threads, their questions won't be seen. It's not that we actively refuse to
respond - it's that we won't even know a question was asked.
