Any thoughts on Miro?

Hi.

Miro's fantastic, especially if you have a hi-res monitor and a
comfortable chair. Everything looks fantastic in it.

I used to use Miro in Windows, and it was extremely slow. However,
when I moved to Ubuntu, I decided to give it a try again. It works
great! (More proof that Windows is slow and Linux is fast.)

And as Donn said, watch the TED videos. They're very interesting.
However, TED videos are also on YouTube and on their own website, but
they're in very high resolution, and they just look amazing.

On the down side, it does suck up your bandwidth. You can set how fast
it downloads and uploads (video downloading uses bittorrent), but then
it's slower. And it still does suck up quite a lot of resources, so
it's harder to multi-task on my computer with it playing a video
(however, I don't like multi-tasking when I'm watching videos, so it's
OK with me, but it could be a problem for a lot of people).

Overall, it's pretty cool. If I were you, I'd try it out for a test
drive for a few days, and see if you like it. You'll probably either
like it or hate it; it seems like a lot of people here do.

My two cents.
