You can do something similar with "Quick Access". The only problem I see 
with it is that it won't open with the "root" but only works well with 
the /home/"user". You can set it to start at one system directory such 
as /user but that only allows you to navigate that Directory. Of course 
once Dolphin is open you can navigate to "root" but that's not quite the 
same.
