Possible upgrade. 8.04alt to gutsy

Kde3.5 fan here. Planning a cpu upgrade on my box and considering a jump to kde4.3.  I've read that v4 has improved, so I am openminded.  There are a few things I wish to clear up first. Specifically, konqueror web shortcuts. Is it still possible to do an apt search with konq?  I currently use that function on nearly a daily basis with 3.5 and would to lose it in 4.3.
