Mobile broadband internet connection with Sierra Wireless Aircard

I got a new Sierra Wireless Aircard 597E for my internet connection via my express card slot in my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop.the stuff works on my vista with ease but can't seem to work on my Kubuntu 9.04.i tried everything from wvdial, pppconfig, network management widget and knetwork manager.pls can any one help?Just give me the steps and I'll figure it out.
