So I guess you booted from LiveCD to try and fix your /boot/grub/menu.lst
file.

Here is how to do so:

1.  kdesudo mkdir /media/disk/boot

2.  kdesudo mount /dev/sdb2  /media/disk/boot

3.  kdesudo kate /media/disk/boot/grub/menu.lst
