Installing 9.0.4 with Vista

yeap thats right
then just try to check your  grub, for this there are several ways.
first of all start the system with the dvd, then one way could be:
1. sudo grub
once inside grub type:
2. find /boot/grub/stage1
   will get something like (hdx,x)
3. so now type setup (hdx,x)
4.quit
and reboot

else just try to reinstall the grub and for sure that will fix it 
without erasing any data
