Just as a reference: I've upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 when it was in
Beta without any issue.
For the records: did you have any non-default package/repository installed?
What problem did you end up with? Unable to login? Corrupted screen?

This kind of info will help the developers make a better system the next time ;)
