I really thought that sort of criticism of Ubuntu was dead.  iirc, they used
to say that Ubuntu stole from Debian and didn't give anything back - until
Debian developers pointed out that they were offered everything that Ubuntu
had modified from Debian, but Debian didn't actually _want_ much of it.
