Jaunty VM login screen failure - SOLVED

Remove VirtualBox 2.1
Install VirtualBox 2.2
Fire up the Jaunty VM
Install the new version of the Guest Additions (it now works without hacking 
the installer)
Reboot the VM
It now works.
