While I'm not sure I can help, there are some questions which might narrow 
down your problem:

- Are you sure you have a 64-Bit CPU? Core-Duo is only 32-Bit while 
Core-2-Duo is 64-Bit. [1], [2]

- Can you tell us what type of graphics card is built-in to your machine 
(Intel, ATI, Nvidia, VIA, ...)?

- Can you clarify what you mean with "why is it the after i install the 
grafics of the kubuntu breaks?"? To me that sentence doesn't really make 
sense - probably because I'm not a native English speaker. Especially I'm 
not sure when Kubuntu breaks. Is it some time during the installation 
process or is it after the system was fully installed and working?
