About memory, I found this site (www.crucial.com) to be quite 
informative. For yopur model,
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=Evo%20Notebook%20N620c%20Series&pl=HP%20-%20Compaq&cat=RAM

it says max memory is 2 gb, 2 slot for DDR PC2700, max 1 GB each (SODIMM 
200 pin).

For other information, have a look at dmesg, lsusb, lspci (I'm no expert 
in these fields but someone else on the list is).
