VMware Player 2.5.0: throwing 'Glib::FileError'

I have successfully installed VMware Player on many kubuntus but
one systems!

When running the player, it will abort with this error message:
"terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Glib::FileError'"

I tried to Google, but could not find any working solution.
Thank you for any clue!
