I am having a couple of disk problems right now, however I would like to
resolve the problem I am having installing Intrepid first. Current OS
is Kubuntu 8.04 KDE 3.5.9.

I have 2 hard drives, 80gb & 200gb.

Currently I have Hardy installed on sdb1 of the 80gb HD, mount point '/'.

I have 14gb dedicated and formatted on the 200gb drive, sda1, to install
Intrepid. Moments ago, I mounted this partition and identified it as
'/media'.

This is the Intrepid version I downloaded for installation.

#define DISKNAME  Kubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" - Beta i386
#define TYPE  binary
#define TYPEbinary  1
#define ARCH  i386
#define ARCHi386  1
#define DISKNUM  1
#define DISKNUM1  1
#define TOTALNUM  0
#define TOTALNUM0  1

Then I booted with the CD installed. My CD boots first. A screen
appeared with an option to INSTALL. I chose that option. After some
time, a black screen appeared with a 'X' cursor in the center of the
screen. The screen stays unchanged at that point, as though the system
had crashed. Using the mouse, I verified that I could move the cursor,
so I don't think a crash occurred.

Can anyone explain what has happened? By the way, I set the file system
for the empty boot partition as ext3, if that matters. TIA

Steven
